This programme invites you on a refined journey into the art of the Baroque, in all its richness, elegance and brilliance! Among the rare works written for orchestra alone, Bach’s four Orchestral Suites, composed from stylised dances and French overtures, reveal the full palette of the orchestra — from the flute’s exuberant jubilation in the Badinerie, to the splendour of the trumpets, the pastoral colours of the reeds, and the suspended, soaring violin line of the famous Aria in D major.
